Now that the summers are coming up, and most of you are working from home, it is the perfect time to binge-watch all the tv shows and movies you’ve missed over the years. However, you might have a huge bucket list, and can’t possibly get through it all. Furthermore, you might have a cable TV package like Charter cable, so your options might be limited. In that case, you will have to subscribe to the streaming services of your choice to access all the content you need.

In addition, you need to narrow down your list so that you can watch some of the top options you have there. Furthermore, you should consider whether you’re watching alone or with your family. Then, you’ll have to see what is appropriate for the situation. If you need some suggestions, here’s a list you can start off with!

TV Shows:

The Boys

This gritty show is a cunning take on the superhero genre. Based on a set of hit comics, it explores the negative side of popular superheroes and exposes them as exploitative beings. Be warned, The Boys is quite violent, but its story is extremely engrossing. If you’re tired of the same old goodie goodie superhero movies and shows, this is the perfect show for you. It is streaming on Amazon Prime, and has gained massive popularity since its inception.

Schitt’s Creek

This light comedy turns unexpectedly heartwarming over time. It explores the downfall of the Rose family from a life of unimaginable luxury and riches. The parents, especially Catherine O’ Hara as Moira Rose are a delight to watch, while their two adult children have their own storylines. This show’s character development is quite exceptional, and its finale left many people in tears

Castlevania

Castlevania is one of the best animated shows Netflix has to offer. It is based on the immensely popular old video games, and features some impressive voice acting. Its story deals with an unlikely trio fighting Dracula and his monsters. This show features quite a lot of gore, but its story and side character plotlines are extremely well-written. You’ll find yourself liking every character in this show, no matter how minor.

Haunting Of Hill House

If your tastes lean more towards horror, this is the perfect show for you. It is basically a ghost story of a whole other calibre. Furthermore, it is excellent for non-horror fans as well. The way it deals with family trauma and psychological issues is quite impressive and well worth a watch.

Movies:

Moxie

This is a different take on the typical high school teen movie. It is a great option to watch if you have daughters. Basically, a shy teenager creates a magazine which calls out sexism in her school. This leads to a whole chain of events, but is an inspiring movie for young girls to watch.

The White Tiger

Based on the hit 2008 novel by Aravind Adiga, The White Tiger puts light on classism in India. It also exposes the hypocrisy of a supposedly ‘modern’ couple, and has a series of shocking events in the story. It tackles all these serious themes in a light-hearted and humorous way, making it a fun watch, but still gives you food for thought.

Raya and The Last Dragon

This is one of the latest Disney offerings to hit your screens. It is based on Southeast Asian culture and promotes female empowerment. It also makes children aware of the beauty of a different culture, and is a good watch for all ages.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League

If you’re one of the millions of people disappointed in the original Justice League movie, this will alleviate your feelings. Zack Snyder, after much fan pressure, released his own cut on HBO Max. it gets rid of all the cringeworthy parts, and adds a lot more to the story. It is what the Justice League movie was supposed to be, and serves its purpose well.

In conclusion, these TV shows and movies are great for binge-watching. So, grab your popcorn, make yourselves comfortable and get to watching!
